There are some lovely scenic golf resorts in Cambodia, many of which are world renowned. Below we have selected our three favourites.

SOFITEL ANGKOR PHOKEETHRA GOLF SPA RESORT

The Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and spa resort is an elegant hotel located just within easy reach from the airport and features beautiful tropical gardens, an 18-hole championship golf course and offers excellent accommodation facilities. It is near major attractions such as the mysterious Angkor Wat, the ancient French Quarter and the serene banks of Siem Reap River.

The golf course managed by the resort is among the exquisite amenities offered by the resort. It provides golfers with vast well manicured grounds to practice teeing off in style. It is designed in such a way that it reflects the Cambodian culture and history; between the 9th green and the 10th tee is a restored ‘Roluh Bridge’ which is also the iconic image of the logo representing the course and dates back to the 11th century Khmer empire.

Sweeping fairways feature a combination of paspalum grasses which give the course its deep green color, the natural lagoons and sand traps are littered in the course to challenge golfers of all abilities. There are also great practicing facilities and fine dining areas to refill after the daunting final shot at the signature double water carry 18th hole.

ANGKOR GOLF RESORT

The Angkor Golf Resort is a resort created with golfers needs in mind; it features one of Nick Faldo’s finest world-class championship course and also his first golf course in the kingdom of Cambodia. It was blessed by monks and opened in 2009 bringing Cambodia into the limelight as a golf holiday destination.

The course is well maintained and the paspalum turf ensures a game of golf on the course is possible throughout the year. It is a course that requires careful thinking and concentration before making any moves, the strategically placed bunkers and water hazards are tricky but visible from each tee box. The various tee boxes allow for both low and mid handicappers to choose the right course length for their game.
